Box Office: Gatsby well past $250m

The Great Gatsby has now taken $US136,770,711 in the US and $142,600,000 around the world, with those figures probably a bit slow. But there is a shadow behind the throne which is a bit worrying.

The Great Gatsby has now taken $US136,770,711 in the US and $142,600,000 around the world, with those figures probably a bit slow. But there is a shadow behind the throne which is a bit worrying.

Despite these substantial numbers, the collapse of the US weekend figures will keep the accountants from relaxing. This last weekend saw it take $4.2m, down from $50m just six weeks ago. The location average is $1955/per, which is pretty ordinary and it is now on 2,160 screens rather than 3,535.
