Well, I’m about to launch into my preview of the very inviting program for the 60th Sydney Film Festival, which is packed with enticing films. I am under strict instructions from my editor, who wants a more concise summing up of the films I highlight, and has asked me to specifically search for those productions that could provoke and inspire local filmmakers; to look for those ideas or ways of working that just might provide that spark, that sudden flash of inspiration, or that lovely solution to a problem.
