Climbing, climbing.. the figures for Gatsby defy the printed insults.

According to Australian distributors Roadshow, who must be beside themselves with pleasure, the release surge of 49 territories last weekend grossed “$42.1m with 4.6m admissions from almost 8,400 screens”.

The estimates for the US this weekend are $23,415,000, so the North American total is $US$90,159,000. The per location average for the first weekend was $14,168; for this last it is estimated to be $6,596.
