With a variety of legislation (a dog’s breakfast is the phrase being used around the traps) SPAA continues to haunt the corridors of Canberra power until the bitter end.

SPAA is reporting a sense that the Liberal Party is likely to support the legislation. The ABC has already announced that the Opposition will support the legislation to halve the license fee, which the industry guilds see as a pay-off with nothing in return. The Liberal Party will also support the amendments to the ABC and SBS legislation, as long as a clause is removed which prevents commercial organisations from tendering for Australia’s international television network.
