The Rocket and Satellite Boy were the Australian features in Berlin this year, both in the Generation section for young audiences. The Rocket won in spades. , with Satellite Boy honoured as well. In shorts, The Amber Amulet also turned out to be a jewel in the year’s crown.
The Rocket won a Crystal Bear in the Generation Kplus category. Even better, it then went on to win the Best First Feature for the whole Berlin Film Festival, and that is worth a useful €50,000. We covered The Rocket here.
