Robert Connolly’s Footprint Films will give telemovie Underground: The Julian Assange Story a limited theatrical release as part of a broader strategy to support the sales of the film internationally.

The telemovie, which Connolly directed, screened on Network Ten in October, attracting 1.3 million viewers. Unlike other telemovies, however, Underground also secured a spot at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it attracted interest from international theatrical distributors.
