Screen Queensland has announced that producer and former executive director of Victoria’s Open Channel will become the agency’s new Head of Screen Culture. The announcement comes a week before Open Channel’s premises in Melbourne was due to be demolished.
Hughes (Gettin’ Square) is widely credited with revitalising Open Channel, Victoria’s media resource and training organisation, during her twelve month tenure, and significantly improving its sometimes rocky relationship with Film Victoria, resulting in additional funding for the organisation.
