William Head started out to curate a film program in the Solomon Islands, and was confronted with the sadness of a culture unable to tell its stories on screen – exactly the problem we all fear at home. He, and the Australian International Documentary Conference, have devised a scheme.
[Editor: William Head and the AIDC are running a campaign to fund a Solomon Islands filmmaker to come to the AIDC. The reason why is pretty fascinating.]
William Head is in the Solomon Islands with Australian Volunteers for International Development, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative, which deploys skilled Australians to live and work in developing countries as part of the overseas aid program.
