The only Australian project in the short film, animation and documentary categories at Sundance features Nash Edgerton as co-director. Ironically, it is in the U.S. Narrative Shorts section.

The Captain is badged to the U.S. and Australia, featuring seasoned collaborators Nash Edgerton and Spencer Susser on the co-directing chair, while Taika Waititi, who made Boy, is both the lead actor and is credited as co-writer. It was shot by Greig Fraser ACS, who has just received the New York Film Critic’s award for now getting awards for Zero Dark Thirty, after working on Bright Star, Snow White and the Huntsman and Killing Them Softly.
