Federal Minister for the Arts, Simon Crean, today confirmed that while the Location Offset remained at an internationally uncompetitive 16.5%, he would consider one-off grants similar to the $12.5 million grant that brought The Wolverine to Fox Studios in Sydney.

Speaking at an impromptu media conference after his address to the 2012 SPAA Conference, he confirmed a comment that he had made to ScreenHub’s Lyn Norfor on Tuesday, that each potential international production would be looked at on a case-by-case basis. “They made their case,” he said.
