The Certificate IV Screen & Media Studies at Metro Screen is accredited, respected and very hands on. It is focused on practical industry skills combined with an industry internship. There are a few places left for the Group 2 enrolment starting 30 July 2012.

80% of graduates walk into work after the graduation screening with a show reel and a network of contacts. Only 15 students are selected twice a year. For people interested in working in the film, television and online media industries.

This full-time accredited curriculum is specifically designed to address the employment needs of the film, TV and online media industries. That’s why 80% of graduates find employment in the film and television industry through a broad range of career paths. Graduates hit the ground running with a professional showreel, experience working with Metro Screen industry partners like Porchlight Films, as well as the experience of working on a real client brief.

FULL TIME COURSE BREAKDOWN

Technical and practical classes are held in professional studios and edit suites ensuring students acquire hands on skills through the 4 phases of the course;
Phase 1: Documentary – Pitch a concept and create a documentary
Phase 2: Drama – Develop and shoot scripts and dramatic content for film and TV
Phase 3: Industry Internship – Gain experience through an industry placement
Phase 4: Client Focused Production – A real life client brief for a music video or TVC

Expert advice, the latest quality HD digital cameras, a fully functional Chroma key multi-cam TV studio and iMac post production facilities are provided for students to learn in a working industry environment. The final stage for the filmmaker is seeing your story on the big screen in front of an audience. Invite your friends, family and colleagues to your graduation screening and launch your career in front of the Metro Screen industry network including VIP’s and funding body representatives.
