Acclaimed Australian director Gillian Armstrong has joined hundreds of film professionals from Australia and around the world in signing a petition on Change.org asking the Cannes Film Festival to reveal its film selection criteria after no movies directed by women were nominated for the festival’s top prize this year. Only one woman has ever won the festival’s biggest prize, the Palm d’Or.
