Introducing The Actors Stable, (www.theactorsstable.com) an actor and film maker networking site and database created by independent film studio darphi images. The goal of The Actors Stable is to provide independent film makers with the right people for their productions by compiling the most dedicated and reliable database online.
For years independent productions have had to rely upon cast and crew sourced online with little experience and mixed levels of reliability. The frustration of not having someone show up on the day of shooting, or not delivering actors with their show reel footage, has become a too regular occurrence in our industry. You can blame a lack of budget for their low incentive level but the fact is the current state of the independent film industry is a low budget one, and we depend on people showing up, or delivering the things they promise, when they say they will.
It is the hope of The Actors Stable to create a database of reliable and dedicated actors and crew, whose sole passion is the end product and not the fame and fortune at the end of the rainbow.
Initially anybody can join The Actors Stable, as we believe everybody should be given the chance to prove themselves. However once you have been deemed unreliable, and that counts for actors and film makers, you will be taken off the site. We want to gain the reputation for The Actors Stable to be the most reliable source online and have being a member mean something.
The process is simple and extremely affordable, a $10 yearly subscription is all you’ll pay.
Create your profile, upload your head shots and relevant experience and you’re done.
You’ll then have full access to the entire database of actors and crew via direct email from their profiles or you can post a job position, contact a job lister or sell yourself with an initiative listing, which you can use to promote your experience, list travel plans and availability and stand out from the crowd.
Whilst we know budgets are tight we encourage paid work to be offered on the job listings posted. The more money we can start injecting into our industry the more full time and dedicated cast and crew we will have at our disposal. I’m sure it is all our dreams to earn a living doing the thing we love the most, so we hope with The Actors Stable it will help towards that dream coming true.
The site will continually grow and will eventually add our own database of films created by the members of The Actors Stable family. A yearly showcase, which will include an awards ceremony, is also being planned, premiering on the big screen those films using our Stable members.
The first major production from The Actors Stable, The Chase, is now underway.
