Open Channel’s popular Final Cut Pro 7 Introduction course with a demo of FCPX is kicking off on Friday 13th April with Edwin Daughtry.

FCP 1204: Friday to Sunday April 13 (6.15-9.15pm), 14, 15 (10.00am-5.30pm)
Do you want to begin editing with Final Cut Pro 7 and get an intro to Final Cut Pro X? This comprehensive workshop is an exercise-based course covering basic editing procedures and the many features of Final Cut Pro 7 and a basic demo and insight into the pros and cons of Final Cut Pro X. Gain an overall understanding of the principles and strategies for non-linear editing and learn about the basic features of the program including:

  • Setting up a project
  • Capturing media
  • Basic picture editing
  • Basic sound editing
  • Codecs
  • Special techniques like titles, credit rolls, layers, filters, image effects, transitions
  • A maximum of four participants ensures you one-on-one tutoring
    EDWIN DAUGHTRY started making short films at university and after getting one into the St Kilda Film Festival decided on a career screen production. He has produced and directed award-winning short films and documentaries; and has worked as an in-house producer and editor using Premier and Final Cut Pro making corporate videos, TVCs. He was a news editor for the ABC (using AVID), and continues to freelance as an editor and trainer in video production.
