The 2012 Byron Bay International Film Festival (BBFF) will once again bring film-lovers and filmmakers together for a captivating, stimulating and entertaining dose of screen culture. Experience for yourself why BBFF has a growing reputation for being a Filmmakers’ Festival.

With world-class beaches only a short stroll from BBFF’s festival headquarters, and World Heritage Rainforests and National Parks a short drive away, beautiful Byron Bay provides a glorious backdrop for one of Australia’s fastest growing film festivals.

Now in its 6th year, the Byron Bay International Film Festival is fast becoming synonymous with independent, ethical, and culturally relevant cinema from around the world. Screening over 10 days, this festival attracts Australian and International Filmmakers, Directors, Producers, Performers, Cultural Tourists, and a wealth of appreciative audience members.

You don’t have to have a film in the programme to have a great experience at BBFF. Every year there are a number of workshops and discussion panels running and whether you’re a budding or established filmmaker these industry events are guaranteed to inspire and inform. Despite being a small town, Byron Bay is home to some of Australia’s most politically and socially active writers, artists, and filmmakers. The BBFF has proudly established itself as a platform for supporting filmmakers in their quest to educate, open minds, share stories, and bridge gaps of understanding between cultures and backgrounds.

For the very first time this year BBFF will offer a limited number of Delegates Passes for sale to those working in the film industry. With 5 venues and over 170 films, BBFF2012 offers attending accredited filmmakers plenty to see plus a wealth of networking opportunities; including access to BBFF’s filmmaker’s bar where you can watch the sun set over Byron while connecting and collaborating. As always the festival will start with a bang as BBFF2012 hosts its knockout Gala Red Carpet Opening Party on March 2nd. Along with the Closing Party, this event always sells out so make sure you don’t miss out.

From the 2nd to the 11th of March 2012, Byron Bay will be enlivened with screen culture as the Byron Bay International Film Festival works its magic. There are a number of special accommodation offers to suit all budgets provided by the many hotels and resorts that partner with BBFF. It’s good to get in early as these deals have grown increasingly popular. Information about these hotel deals and the festival can be found at www.bbff.com.au.

Definitely not one to miss. Mark your diaries now. March 2-11 2012. Email industry@bbff.com.au to register for a Delegates Pass.

See you at Byron Bay International Film Festival 2012.
