Essential Media and Entertainment has won the Best Television Drama category at this year’s SPAA Independent Producer Awards with its roguishly funny drama series Rake.
Starring Richard Roxburgh as the emotionally bruised, self-destructive defence barrister Cleaver Greene, the eight-episode comedy drama series was produced by Ian Collie of Essential Media and Entertainment, Peter Duncan and Richard Roxburgh for ABC1. A second series of the highly-lauded drama has been commissioned for 2012.
