The 7 September, 2011 marks 75 years since the death of the last known Tasmania Tiger at Hobart Zoo. The Tasmanian Tiger is the subject of much mystery and myth; with some locals claiming it is still alive – questioning the longstanding belief of its extinction in 1936.

Due for release on October 6, upcoming Australian film THE HUNTER, follows the story of Martin (Willem Dafoe), a mercenary sent from Europe by a mysterious biotech company to the Tasmanian wilderness on a dramatic hunt for the last Tasmanian Tiger.
