A film festival located in the regional NSW town of Dungog will receive a $45,000 funding injection to develop the talents of Australian script writers. Arts Minister Simon Crean today announced the one-off funding grant to the Dungog Film Festival for its Sydney-based script development program, In the Raw.

In the Raw presents live script readings by professional actors of Australian screenplays heading into production. It was established in 2007 at the annual Dungog Film Festival but has grown to become a bi-monthly event at the Sydney Theatre in Walsh Bay.
