The Hoyts Corporation today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Australian Multiplex Cinemas (AMC) to establish a presence in Queensland and Far-North New South Wales.

The AMC circuit consists of five multiplexes and 44 screens including three cinema multiplexes in Queensland comprising a total of 26 screens. The multiplexes are located in Stafford, Sunnybank and Redcliffe. The circuit also includes a 6-screen multiplex at Tweed Heads on the border of Queensland and NSW and a 12-screen multiplex in the Melbourne suburb of Frankston.
