The invisible stars of the Australian screen industry are the powerhouse storytellers who sit in the cutting rooms, internationally renowned editors such as Lee Smith, who cut Christopher Nolan’s latest blockbuster Inception with additional editing by fellow Australian John Lee, legendary Oscar-nominated editor Jill Bilcock ASE (editor for the likes of Sam Mendes, Baz Lurhmann, Fred Schepsi and Shekhar Kapur), and Gillian Armstrong’s go-to-guy Nicholas Beauman ASE, along with rising stars such as Roland Gallois ASE, who cut the enormously successful Samson and Delilah and Luke Doolan (Animal Kingdom) whose own short film Miracle Fish was nominated at the 2010 Academy Awards.
