SNOWYfest Canberra Shorts, the monthly off-shoot, has exceeded all expectations. Launched in February 2005 by ACT Senator Gary Humphries, it runs the first Thursday of every month at the Holy Grail in Canberra City. The August edition saw the one thousandth patron come through the door.
The event, a combination of a short film screening and movie trivia is able to operate without the support of the ACT goverment due to the generous support of the ACT business community, and the ACT Filmmakers Network.
