Controversial documentary Beyond Our Ken about the notorious cult Kenja was set to travel the path many Australian films do – passing by a theatrical season and going straight to DVD. That is, until film journalists started generating overwhelmingly positive reviews; Empire gave it 4 stars, and Jim Schembri (The Age) said it was ‘positively electrifying’… ‘it’s for moments like these that we go to see documentaries’.

The film has consequently been offered a short season at Cinema Nova from 18 September.
